Glass fabric with aluminium lamination

Apronor > Glass fabric with aluminium lamination

Fibreglass fabric is a technical textile known for its resistance to temperature. To improve its performance (waterproofing, cut resistance and antistatic properties, for example), it can be treated in a various ways, including aluminium lamination.

This makes it more resistant to radiant heat. It is therefore suitable for specific industrial uses, in particular the manufacture of protective and welding equipment. Apronor has a range of products for the French and international markets. This glass fabric with aluminium lamination complies with current standards and features :

  • its high quality ;
  • its resistance to fire.

Packaged in rolls, it is easy to cut and its fraying is reduced by the treatment that it has received. This type of packaging also simplifies storage and handling.

An aluminised textile highly resistant to radiant heat

Made from fibreglass and aluminium lamination, this fabric unites the technical performances of these two materials, for a longer lifetime.

It has excellent properties of fibreglass, a natural and ecologically pure material, which makes it :

  • not harmful to human health or the environment ;
  • resistant to chemicals, oils, solvents, vibrations, tearing and corrosion;
  • insulating ;
  • non-flammable.

The treatment increases its resistance to radiant heat, flame and molten metal splashes. This aluminium-laminated glass fabric is therefore perfect for the manufacture of heat protection equipment.

Applications and variations of this technical fabric

This aluminium-laminated glass fabric is suitable for the manufacture of protective and welding equipment because of its increased resistance to radiant heat. For example, it can be used to manufacture safety glasses, gloves, blankets and fire protection clothing. As a result, it meets the requirements and constraints of our customers, industrial companies specialising in the manufacture of PPE, ships and offshore installations.

This technical insulating fabric is also available in several variants. You can choose between :

  • plain ;
  • 1/3 crossed twill ;
  • canvas ;
  • taffeta.

Thickness also varies according to references, ranging from 0.22 mm to 1.5 mm.
