Glass fabric
The glass fabric are made with fiber glass that can resist temperatures going up to 800°C. In addition, it is nonflammable and thanks to it’s chemical resistance, it is ideal for specific industrial applications.

Anti-fraying treated glass fabrics
Ecru glass fabrics
The ecru glass fabric has not undergone any transformation or preparation.
Vermiculite coated glass fabrics
Vermiculite is a natural mineral that has excellent insulation and fire resistance properties. The vermiculite coating provides resistance to high temperatures of up to 1000°C over a short period of time. Glass fabrics with a vermiculite coating are used in particular in the areas of welding protection or to protect against incandescent projections (metallurgical industry, foundry, etc.).
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
-
What temperature does glass fabric withstand?
Depending on treatment: anti-fraying treated glass fabric up to 550°C; vermiculite-coated glass fabric up to 1,000°C short-term; 800°C high-temperature treated versions up to 800°C continuous.
-
What is the difference between ecru and anti-fraying treated glass fabric?
Ecru glass fabric has undergone no treatment — it is raw from the loom. Anti-fraying treatment impregnates the fibres with an acrylic formulation to stabilise the edges, preventing fraying during cutting and handling.
-
Is glass fabric harmful to health?
No. Apronor E-glass fibre is ecologically pure, non-toxic and asbestos-free. It is approved for industrial use and presents no risk of bioaccumulation.
-
Can glass fabric be used for heat insulation lagging?
Yes. Woven glass fabrics are widely used for thermal insulation and lagging in steelmaking, foundry and glass manufacturing industries. Vermiculite-coated references (up to 1,000°C) are particularly suited.
